On this route, you will visit the little town Stow-on-the-Wold that you´ll reach after approximately 6 miles of your bike ride. In this town, you will find the famous magical Tolkien´s doors (The Doors of Durin), which are the northern doors to St. Edward´s Church.
Not far from this church you can taste local beer in the oldest English pub, “The Porch House” which was built in 947 AD. Don´t miss the well known alleyway “The Tures” that was originally used for herding sheep, and according to legend it was also used by King Charles I as an escape route.
After visiting Stow set off on the E-bike towards the picturesque little village of Lower Slaughter, where you´ll find its highlight, the Old Mill on the River Eye, which was built in the 19th century.
The village is very photogenic and there is also a very pleasant outside garden at the restaurant, The Slaughter Country Inn where you can fill your bellies and then continue on to the charming village which is often named as Venice of the Cotswolds -Bourton-on-the-Water.
